2026 – Week 40

Monday: Administrative things; ordered some weldable m16 nuts, spoke to a guy from 3M about the filter for my welding helmet. The long and short of it is the filter should be good for more than 6 months, and the primary protection is the particulate filter, which the PAPR will tell me when it needs replacement. The filter I have sealed in bag is past its use-by date, but I’ll use it anyway, change it out after 6 months. Organised a printed manual for my welding helmet’s screen. Did a cycling session, weighed myself at 53.9kg. Made Kippers fried rice for dinner.

Tuesday: A rushed morning, had to go out  as soon as I was up to collect fixings for the desk shelf project. I went to bunnings to grab a 3mm drill bit, as well as some matching nuts and bolts. The goal of this is to drill pilot holes in steel, and then bolt those pilot holes together, so I can stabilise the pieces of steel for drilling the larger holes.

Wednesday: Woke late, and had to race out for a riverside drink with Cam. Later, went to fuel up the car for the drive down to Brisbane on the weekend. Spend some of the night working on the Kyoto chapter of Day and Night.

Thursday: Took out a subscription to The Rest is History club, and began the process of downloading 900+ back catalogue episodes. Did some laundry.

Friday: Laundry, and packing for the Brisbane work trip.

Saturday: Packing, running backups, travel down to Brisbane. Ordered Chinese food, a meal costing $111, more than I’ve ever spent at a restaurant/ takeaway. Weird being in Hannah’s house by myself. Watched a movie, and did some drinking before going to bed.

Sunday: had a broken night’s sleep, so had a relatively easy day. I set Hannah’s garage up for welding etc. Monday, I’ll start work.
